We as military veterans are a unique breed. We take care of each other as much as we can. We depend on one another for each mission. One of my passions while in the military was helping my fellow service members in every aspect of their professional careers. As a leader, manager, and mentor, it was my duty to take care of anyone that walked through my door. This is the tradition that inspired CIVEASE LLC.
CIVEASE is a play on a common military term, civies or civilian clothing. The term CIVEASE can also be expanded to civilian-ease. Our goal is to ease veterans and their families into civilian lives post-military service.
my personal military transition
I commissioned as a U.S. Army, Adjutant General Corps Officer in 2010. In a combination of active duty and reserve service, my duty locations include Fort Jackson, Fort Polk, and Pittsburgh, PA. My specialty was human resources, so I served as a Battalion S1, Assistant Brigade S1, Brigade S1, and Human Resources Officer. In non-military terms, I was a Senior Human Resources Manager.
During my transition into the civilian workforce, I was overwhelmed with an unfamiliar world surrounded by military headhunters, recruiters, career fairs, online applications, over-qualifications, under-qualifications, and many other HR buzzwords. It took me just over a year and 100 plus applications to finally land my first role outside of the military. The role just so happened to be an undergraduate internship five years after I graduated college. This role not only humbled me, but also showed me that there was a difference between getting a job and finding a meaningful job. Since then, I have continued my journey as an HR leader with specialties in learning & development, talent acquisition, workforce development, and diversity & inclusion.
